Episode 9. Compliance plus Agile. Day 9 of your 10 day sprint. Welcome. Two topics that sink Oracle veterans: compliance answered vaguely, and Agile answered as waterfall. Today fixes both. Say this first: Compliance is evidence, every privileged action logged and reviewable. Concepts. SOX means change control with approvers and an audit trail. PCI means least privilege, key rotation, PII masking, and no secrets in scripts or Jenkins logs. Unified auditing captures privileged actions with retention and forwarding to Splunk or Datadog. Agile means sprints, a product owner, iterative delivery, and demos; your change-control past reframes as iterative collaboration with release gates. Scenario. Auditors ask who touched cardholder data last quarter. Understand: scope of tables and time window. Prepare: unified audit trail plus access-grant history. Identify: the privileged paths that need justification versus routine approved access; separate them before answering. Support: deliver the report with control, evidence, and review cadence stated. Say this bridge once. Say: My change-control experience was already iterative delivery with approvers and rollback plans, and on Agile teams I ship the same way in sprint increments with a product owner. Your Day 9 lab: write the SOX PCI control checklist from memory, then reframe one waterfall story as a sprint story with an outcome. Teaser: Tomorrow, Episode 10, mocks. Scenario plus case plus behavioral, timed. Second scenario. A deploy needs a risky grant to meet a sprint deadline. Understand: what breaks without it and the exposure window. Prepare: least-privilege alternative plus time-boxed grant option. Identify: blocking the grant with a scoped alternative versus refusing without a path; choose the safe path that still ships. Support: implement scoped access, log it, schedule the permanent fix. That is Do the Right Thing with a metric. Pause and say the compliance sentence again: control plus evidence plus cadence. Twice. Close with your intro spine plus gap line, back to back. Done.
